OVERVIEW
In honor of Black History Month we invite you to pause and recharge through self-love with the ancestral afro-indigenous plant medicine of Cacao, along with a sound healing experience. This multi-sensory journey explores the healing properties of the medicine of Cacao (taste), Sound/Vibrations (hearing/feeling), Color Therapy (sight), and Aromatherapy (smell).
This is a moment to disconnect from the stress of everyday activities, and reconnect with ourselves. We will also have an opportunity to journal and manifest our goals & intentions. This grounding experience is open to all! Feel free to bring your yoga mat, limited mats to lay out & enjoy the experience will be provided.
AFRO-DESCENDANT HISTORY OF CACAO
Cacao Ceremonies are a celebratory ritual that opens the heart space through the use of cacao. Traditionally Cacao Ceremonies have been conducted by the afro-indigenous ancient civilizations of the Olmec, Maya, & Aztec.
Cacao is a heart opener and brain stimulator. Cacao is also a superfood and can be enjoyed as a chocolate bar, in smoothies, as well as served hot in a ceremonial context due to its antioxidant benefits. This superfood was once used in every facet of life in Mesoamerican, afro-indigenous civilizations.
The daily incorporation of Cacao also affects your mood and energy in a positive way.
