"Reproductive Life Planning Post-Roe v. Wade," presented by Dr. Merilee Larson & Dr. Melinda BarberWhat is reproductive life planning and how does it fit into our post-Roe v. Wade world? This lecture will discuss what reproductive life planning is, why we need to teach it, and how it can benefit our society as a whole.About Dr. Merilee LarsonMerilee Larsen is an associate professor for the Department of Public Health. She is also the program coordinator for the School Health Education degree. Merilee taught at UVU for over 20 years in multiple departments and also taught for the University of Utah, the Utah Highway Patrol, and in private industry. She has over 15 years of professional experience working for the Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. Merilee received a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Loma Linda University with an emphasis in public health practice and a doctorate of public health (DrPH) from Loma Linda University with an emphasis in health education.About Dr. Melinda BarberMelinda Barber is an assistant professor for the Department of Public Health. Prior to coming to UVU, Melinda taught junior high health classes for ten years and was the dean of students for two years. Melinda taught adjunct for UVU for six years prior to becoming faculty. She earned a Bachelor of Science in school health education at Utah Valley University and her master’s degree and school administration license from the University of Utah.______________________About Roots of KnowledgeRoots of Knowledge is a sweeping stained-glass panorama of history and human drama. The intricate details incorporated into every window represent years of painstaking research on the events and people that shaped humankind from the days of wooly mammoths and cavemen to the iPhone.
