2023 SICTC Welding Competition presented by Nix

Description

We are hosting a welding competition for all levels of experience on March 11, 2023 at The Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center! The competition is divided by ages: Student ages 14-17, Apprentice ages 18-22, and Pro age 23+. Prizes will be given to the top 3 contestants in each category at the conclusion of the day. Competitors will be given 1 hour to perform two welds: 1G Flux Core weld and a weld based on a blueprint drawing. All competitors will be judged by two CWI's. Welders are expected to bring their own proper PPE (welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, steel toes, ear plugs, long sleeve clothing, grinders, and hand tools, etc.) SICTC and Nix will provide the metal, welding machine, and consumables. The event will begin at 7am CST and will last until 2pm. We will send out a schedule to all competitors with your designated time slot days before the event. We can host a maximum of 100 participants, so make sure you secure your spot by purchasing a ticket today!
