The historic Stephen Crane House teams with the nonprofit Asbury Park African-American Music Project (AP-AMP) for an afternoon of Springwood Ave. songs, stories and music history featuring Mr. Al Holmes. A fixture on the greater Asbury scene since the late 1960s, Al Holmes, the Harlem-raised singer/songwriter/guitarist, will be sharing some of his favorite songs and stories. Al was once part of the house band at the Turf Club, the last standing music venue on Springwood Ave. Proceeds from this event will help support AP-AMP's efforts to restore the Turf Club into a community venue for music and culture.
