Women of Color is an active registered student organization on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus that has been educating, uplifting, and uniting minority women on campus for over 30 years. Within these past 30 years, Women of Color has made a continuous stride to empower Black woman culture and wellness through our Annual Spring Conference. The conference brings over 200 participants from across the Midwest to Champaign, IL. This one-day event typically consists of a keynote speaker and panelist discussion, interactive workshops, entertainment, and ultimately a chance to foster community amongst Black women.
This year’s conference theme will be Women of Color 34th Annual Conference - Becoming HER: The Power of Authenticity and Courage which entails empowering Black women to embrace life experiences that contribute to their personal values in order to become their best self and discover purpose. We will discuss how together, these two attributes contribute to wholesome well-being and encourage happiness, fulfillment, and self-confidence.
