We have staff on board who are eager to meet you! Our River Stewards engage in public advocacy in support of CRC’s mission and collaborate with partners across all four states to protect and serve rivers. Kate Buckman (NH) and Kathy Urffer (VT) work to advocate for our rivers' and river communities' environmental health and protection. Stop by to meet Kate and Kathy, learn what CRC has been doing on the rivers with your support, and hear about CRC’s priorities for the watershed in NH and VT this year. Mingle with NH and VT community members who care about healthy rivers and make connections with CRC staff and each other. Light refreshments will be served. Join us for one or more "Meet & Greets" in your region: 3/23 – West Lebanon, NH 4/4 - Bellows Falls, VT * 4/26 - Littleton, NH About Kate (she/her) and Kathy (she/her): Kate grew up and currently lives in Alstead NH. She joined the team at CRC in Sep 2022. Kate has spent her life involved in the aquatic sciences, working everywhere from the deep sea to vernal pools. She is passionate about fish and is excited to be able to work with CRC’s partners and community members in NH to restore and protect the Connecticut River watershed. Come tell her what river issues matter to you! Kathy joined CRC in 2017. Prior to moving to Vermont, Kathy was Special Projects Manager and Operations Director for Hackensack Riverkeeper in New Jersey. More recently she has served on the Board of the Southeastern Vermont Watershed Association, the Windham Regional Commission, and has worked on education projects related to wastewater treatment. Kathy holds a M.S. in Natural Resource Management from Antioch New England University, a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers, and is a former Vermont Leadership Institute Fellow from the Snelling Center for Government. She is a self-taught amateur botanist and herbalist and enjoys re-learning about the natural world through the eyes of her two children.
