Description
The noise of our lives sometimes seems impossible to escape. We live in a culture that undervalues silence. Yet it is through the stillness that personal revelations come to light. To find joy, peace, fulfillment, relief from the suffering, we look to each other to help us find our way. And by identifying what blocks our path and keeps us from moving in the direction of our dharma, we discover unknown passages, together. We are all poets. We are all composers. Perhaps we have yet to discover these gifts and talents but they are inside each of us, waiting to be revealed. The act of creation opens unique avenues of self expression, confidence, communication, empathy, consciousness, collaboration, creativity, listening, observation, risk taking, resilience. Poetry and music serve as vehicles for examining and evaluating the distinct and diverse paths in our lives. They allow us to show ourselves in ways we would not otherwise be able to do. Through gentle movement and meditation, the mind and body speak. This informs our thoughts and feelings. This fosters clarity. The path is illuminated. Join us for this interactive workshop as we explore our personal and collective journeys through the noise. Utilizing original poetry, music, gentle movement and yogic philosophy, Karen Parrish and Ruthie McGinn will guide us as we reflect upon our purpose in this moment. **No composition, music or yoga experience necessary** Catered lunch provided. Vegan options available. Venue is wheelchair accessible. All are welcome to join the workshop! In honor and recognition of Black History Month, we offer a 35% to BIPOC during the month of February.
