Description

Recent spikes of input costs have made many growers rethink some of their management strategies. Experts say there is more life and diversity below ground than above, which play critical roles in soil and plant health. Yet so many don't even have a basic understanding of the complex system. Join us as Dr. Mallory Choudoir, Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in the Department of Plant and Microbiology, provides a general overview of agricultural soil microbiomes basics, the connection of microbiomes to soil fertility metrics, and microbial inoculants. Dr. Ekrem Ozlu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Crop and Soil Science, will also discuss soil organic matter turnover, soil health principles, and impacts of soil management. CCA credits will be available.
