America’s medical inequities have turned giving birth into a battlefield for too many Black women and their babies. BIRTHING JUSTICE tells the story of the crisis faced by Black mothers and their children and the solutions needed to transform the maternal care system. The Lighthouse | Black Girl Projects along with the many Black women led orginazations hosting this screening, are calling on local and state leadership to extend postpartum care for Medicaid recipients. This film screening is one action in a series of direct actions and advocacy to raise awareness of the need to pass legislation to extend post partum care in MS.
