Perry Williams (D’Andrea),is a San Francisco-based Frank Sinatra-style performance artist and Toccoa native. He took home the top honors in Hoboken’s annual singing contest honoring its hometown hero. Following Thursday’s competition in Sinatra Park — which featured contestants performing songs made famous by Olé Blue Eyes —, D’Andrea said he was humbled by the win. He went on to describe the turnout as “insane,” the competition as “serious” and all the performances as “wonderful.” All the contestants treated each other amazingly warmly. It was a true camaraderie, and this event also made me a huge fan of Hoboken. Watch for Hoboken gigs in the future! No question about it,” D’Andrea said. The competition — which was formerly known as Sinatra Idol —was judged by Mayor Ravi Bhalla, Joyce Flinn, Bob Foster, Carolyn Palmer, Dave Post and Jack Silbert, and hosted by Geri Fallo and Gary SimpSinatra.
