Positive Discipline is designed to teach young people to become responsible, respectful and resourceful members of their communities. Positive Discipline teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults. It aligns with our values at TCS and we use many of the same strategies in the classroom. We're excited to share it with you!
Our facilitator, Kristin Nasman, is a certified Positive Discipline trainer (CPDT) and an instructor at Bellevue College in the Parent Education Program where she teaches parents of preschoolers in the Creative Development Lab class. Prior to coming to Bellevue College, she worked at Seattle Central Community College where she was a parent instructor in a toddler program and a co-op preschool. Teaching has always been a part of Kristin’s life and she taught elementary school for many years in the Everett School District. She graduated from the University of Washington where she returned to receive her teaching certificate and then her M Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. Her biggest learning has come from raising her own three teenage children.
