If you live, work, or are a regular commuter through Northside, please join us for a community workshop to discuss Knowlton's Corner and the immediate surrounding area. Volunteer design professionals along with neighborhood organizations (NEST & NCC) will be facilitating conversations and exercises to imagine how the built environment in this area could be improved to better fit Northside's community goals. No design skills required to participate!
We will start the morning with a short welcome and introduction of the goals at hand. We will do a series of guided exercises to gather the community's initial thoughts on the "problems", take some time to review the existing conditions, and then break into groups to come up with potential design solutions. Lunch will be provided for those that register. This will go into early afternoon (around 2pm).
FOCUS GOALS OF THE WORKSHOP:
1. Attract and retain residents, businesses, and patrons on Hamilton Avenue's 4000 block between Spring Grove and Blue Rock
2. Enhance mobility in Northside, including public transit use
3. Make Knowlton's Corner an inviting and functional gateway
4. Connect the Northside business district with the Millcreek recreation areas by activating underutilized spaces.
