COURSE OBJECTIVES The seminar attendee will have increased knowledge to: } Identify orthopedic surgery patients who would benefit from the use of a nerve block to control pain post-operatively. } Describe the procedural process for performing a nerve block on an orthopedic surgical patient. } Compare the therapy readiness for patients who have received a nerve block versus those who have not. } Discuss the risks related to the cumulative effect of opioids in patients following orthopedic procedures.
