COURSE OBJECTIVES The seminar attendee will have increased knowledge to: } Identify orthopedic surgery patients who would benefit from the use of a nerve block to control pain post-operatively. } Describe the procedural process for performing a nerve block on an orthopedic surgical patient. } Compare the therapy readiness for patients who have received a nerve block versus those who have not. } Discuss the risks related to the cumulative effect of opioids in patients following orthopedic procedures. NURSES 3.4 Contact Hours for Nurses Lutheran Health Network is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Participants must attend the full event to receive contact hours. RADIOLOGY STAFF 4.0 CE Credits for Radiology Staff (ASRT) This activity has been approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists as Category A. PHYSICAL THERAPISTS 4.0 Contact Hours for PT (INAPTA) This course has been approved for continuing competency hours by Trine University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
