Every year residents of Lake County are invited to attend a public event demanding the end of violence against women. Lake County Rising is our community's version of One Billion Rising, a global movement. This year we are excited to return to gathering in-person. Join as we celebrate a signficant milestone --- 10 years since the first Lake County Rising! The fight to empower and educate in an effort to end violence against women, we spend this Valentine's Day encouraging women to Find, Define, and Reclaim Our Voices . The evening will feature contest winners in the categories of art, poetry, and essay writing. An ensemble of students from Mundelein High School will provide music. Resources of interest to individuals experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and other issues will be available before the program from 6:30 to 7 pm.
