Eco now will also be providing complimentary appetizers. Eco Now is located at 384 Forest Ave #6, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 January 18, 2023 – Laguna Beach, California –Orange County’s original zero-waste shop recently put down new roots for their third storefront, in Downtown Laguna Beach along Forest Avenue. What sprouted 4 years ago as a grassroots ecology retailer pop- up at farmers’ markets has grown into several thriving brick and mortar sustainability resource centers, where guests can shop for zero-waste household goods, connect with each other and learn methods to become more successful preservationists of our Planet Earth. For those who have never been inside a zero-waste store, the shopping experience is simple. With 50+ bulk items to choose from, re-usable containers are filled with bulk items, such as hand soap, laundry detergent, sunscreen, loose teas, and essential oils. Guests shouldn’t be discouraged if they may have forgotten to bring their own containers as there are usually containers donated to the store from other customers as well as reusable containers for purchase. All products found in bins and displayed on shelves are carefully sourced ethically, from cosmetics, to non-toxic paint, to home goods. Brands carried in-store must solely practice sustainability and use biodegradable ingredients, harmless to the earth and its creatures. Owner, Thea, practices what she preaches, “We purchase cleaning products in 55 gallon drums, and when it sells out, we refill the drums with various products from the local companies we work with. We call it a ‘closed loop.’ It allows both the business and customer to create a zero-waste lifestyle and removes the need to depend on municipal recycling.” Eco Now hosts free sustainability-focused classes and events monthly, most recently, compost education, clothing swaps, fix it fairs, and community cleanups. At the beginning of January, they hosted their first ever seed swap located at Eco Now, Laguna Beach. With a goal to add biodiversity to beachside backyards, locals were invited to bring plant cuttings and seeds from their own gardens to trade among each other. Eco Now has become well-known as an accessible, authentic, and affordable resource for people wanting to live a zero waste lifestyle, with locations in Anaheim, Costa Mesa and Laguna Beach. Thea credits much of the stores’ success on trial and error as Orange County never-before had a zero-waste shop for her to follow as her business model. “You’ll notice we are transparent with our practices. We lead by example, so our community can be confident that their choices are making a difference.” Eco Now will be celebrating their Laguna Beach location opening with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 2nd at 5:30pm. ### Eco Now is a zero-waste lifestyle brand, established in 2018 by preservationist, Thea Merritt-Pauley. What began as a humble hand-sewn reusable goods pop-up at community events has evolved into series eco resource shops and educational community centers with outposts located in Anaheim, Costa Mesa and Laguna Beach.
