Monthly comedy showcase in the basement of the XL bringing you the best professional comedians from all over the Bay Area! For the past 5 years the XL Public House Basement has been a home for comedy in Salinas, come hang out and laugh with us! This months lineup is going to be a fun one. The host for the evening is Michael Booth. Michael is a comedian based in Marina, CA who for the past 5 years has been bringing laughs to the XL Public House Basement, he performs all over California and also produces another show called 'Woodhouse Comedy Night' in Santa Cruz. He is also the host of the 'I'm Getting There' podcast which is a interview style podcast featuring comedians and other artists from all over. His observational style mixed with honest story telling brings the audience together and sets the stage for the evening. Mac Ruiz is a dog loving, espresso fueled stand up comedian and actress. She is the co host and producer of the Comedy Night at Paradox Hotel as well as the host of Comedy Night at Rosie McCann's Irish Pub in Santa Cruz, CA. Rob Schneider once yelled at her for opening wine wrong but that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her dreams of being an entertainer. You can find her petting dogs and cracking jokes all over California. . Iris Benson is a stand up Comedian from San Jose, CA. Since her comedy debut in 2011 she's garnered such praise as “one of my favorite comedians around ”, “ smart and honest ”, “pleasantly dark” and “wonderfully weird” by no one that you've heard of. She's performed all over the West Coast, Pacific Northwest and Montana. Realizing it doesn't take a genius to do most things, Walker Glenn became a father and a stand-up comic in the Spring of 2013. Since then he has performed thousands of sets and given at least three good pieces of parental advice. Ingratiatingly funny and relatable, Walker speaks to those of us who feel at odds with our responsibilities, which is everyone. Walker has performed in pool halls, dive bars, strip clubs, basements, living rooms, a bicycle shop, and in environments meant for comedy such as SF Sketchfest. He lives in Oakland, CA and he is not mad at you (he's just disappointed.) Your headliner for the evening is Terry Dorsey! Terry Dorsey is a comedian and actor from Illinois. He has also performed as "Shady" in a solo act and as part of the comic duo "Tu Shay De." His style of comedy leans more towards storytelling with added social commentary. He started his career on Chicago's south side being trained by some of today's top working comics. His first T.V. appearance as a stand-up was in 2000 on BET's Comicview, but he has also appeared on Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza. Terry was also part of the development team that launched the "Laff Zone Comedy Club" in the Chicago suburb of Markham. He performs all over the Bay Area including clubs like the San Jose Improv as well as Cobbs Comedy Club , Alameda Comedy Club & Punchline Comedy Club in San Francisco.
