Maybe you would like to easily “spice up” your next cocktail party or charcuterie board with snacks and savories that elevate it from ho-hum to memorable? Perhaps you enjoy Indian and Pakistani dishes and would like to try making them at home? If you have answered “Yes!” to any of the above (or are merely curious), then a tour of Krishna’s Grocery is for you. Established in 2012, Krishna’s Grocery is Savannah’s largest and most comprehensive Indian grocery store. Here you will find an amazing selection of fresh and frozen ingredients for Indian and subcontinent dishes and everyday cooking, baking, and grilling, along with cooking supplies, personal care items, and gifts. During your visit, you will meet Bhavesh and Archana Patel, the owners of Krishna’s. Archana will take us on a tour of the shop, answer your questions, and offer samples of some of their snacks and savories. To enhance your visit, fellow New Neighbors, Shanti Stone and Luanne Samson, will offer insights and answer questions. Shanti, originally from Goa, India, will share her knowledge of Indian foods and ingredients. Luanne Samson will bring Indian cookbooks to help you learn as you explore and share how Indian ingredients can be used in everyday cooking and entertaining.
