Description
The Host for The Inventor Spotlight Series of Talks: Newledo Exploration Hub is an emerging, volunteer run, non profit farm dedicated to community, climate resiliency, immersive education and creative, responsive living. The vision of Newledo is to build a regenerative living practice and to share pioneering ecologically-kind projects with the public. For more information contact Melissa Cliver the program curator [email protected] / (917) 887-9721 We welcome inventor of Ferrock, David Stone, who will present his work along with Elizabeth Monoian and Robert Ferry co-directors of the Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI). Ferrock is an iron-based material that captures CO2 as it hardens. It is also waterproof, getting stronger with salt water application, fireproof and pest proof and can move in the event of an earthquake making it a perfect bio-regional material for the coast of Oregon. The Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) helps design renewable energy infrastructures that are also beautiful places for people. The goal of the Land Art Generator is to accelerate the transition to post-carbon economies by providing models of renewable energy infrastructure that add value to public space, inspire, and educate—while providing equitable power to homes around the world. Cities are invited to commission Land Art Generator Initiative projects. It is our honor to present this option to the City of Newport. Note* The Maritime center will also be hosting an aerial photography reception on March 10 also open to the public, the reception starts at 4pm, Inventor Spotlight presentation and Q&A to follow starting at 6pm.
