Description

NADCA Chapter 3 is pleased to present our first meeting of 2023. This years theme is "Education". Please join us as we welcome both Dr. Steven Butt (DEAN CEAS-WMU) and Dr. Sam Ramrattan (FEF Key Professor CEAS-WMU). They will be presenting on a topic that is very important to us; "Administrative and Academic Support for Die Casting Education at WMU-CEAS" Manufacturing education in die casting has always been tantamount to Industry 4.0. Administration and faculty at WMU-CEAS understand the importance of science-based instructions and methods involved in the design and fabrication of die castings. The presenters will identify how WMU-CEAS has been partnering with industry, and integrate programs in order to leverage hardware, software, and the materials necessary to teach students about today’s die cast manufacturing including systems engineering, enabling technology, design, digital toolsets, and more. Dr. Steven Butt has been the Dean of CEAS at WMU for 3 1/2 years and a professor with the school since 1997. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Sam Ramrattan has been a professor at WMU since 1992 and has innumerable awards and papers that are to many to count.
