Presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Washington County and Shattering Stigma with Stories.
Addressing the youth mental health crisis for parents, teachers, coaches, and anyone else who works with or supports school age youth.
It is estimated that 17.5% of school-age youth live with a mental health challenge - and that was even before the pandemic. That means, in Washington County alone, there are over 17,000 kids who are impacted by mental health challenges.
Join us for a morning of education and support, including:
Presentations by parents and youth who have lived experience dealing with mental health challengesInformation on specific mental health challenges kids face (including anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts)A safe space for you to share what you are dealing with at home and connect with othersHands-on practical tools you can use right away in your relationships with youth in your community.You will also leave with new knowledge of what local resources are available to you, when it comes to supporting your children and yourself through mental health struggles.
