In this class, we’ll explore the use of multiple print matrices to build our unique prints. This will include some basic elements of typesetting, using larger-format wood type, and cover multiple print techniques to achieve your layered effects. Students will work on several styles of proofing press, and learn the basics of inking and registration. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The class is taught by Thom Caraway, the designer and publisher for Rock & Sling and Trochaic Letterpress Studio. He has designed over 50 books and magazines, and teaches courses in editing, book design, and publishing at Whitworth University.
