Pedestrian Killed Sunday Crossing Veterans Expressway

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A 42-year-old New Port Richey man was killed Sunday after being struck by a recreation vehicle while crossing the Veterans Expressway south of the Suncoast Parkway. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, just after 6 p.m. the man was walking across the southbound lanes of the toll road when he entered the path of the recreation vehicle driven by a 54-year-old Tampa man who traveling south on the Veterans Expressway. He died at the scene.
