Special musical guests include East Tennessee-based duo THE YOUNG FABLES, Knoxville vocalist JEANINE FULLER, and Atlanta-based jazz saxophonist TAJ DAVIS. ABOUT JEANINE FULLER— Jeanine Fuller is a seasoned vocalist and performer who delivers stunning, soulful performances with eclectic blends of musical styles. Her musical influences vary from Etta James, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald to Dianne Reeves and Chaka Khan to Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Prince. Jeanine is a true native Brooklyn, New Yorker, with ties across the eastern seaboard but she is happy to now call Knoxville, TN home. She has headlined several music festivals including the Louie Bluie Music and Arts Festival, the Secret City Festival, and Knoxville Pridefest. Music is meant to be a journey and supernatural experience – Buckle up and let Jeanine Fuller take you on that fun, “feel-good”, magical, mystical ride. ABOUT THE YOUNG FABLES— The Young Fables create incredible music of classic storytelling … weaved into traditional country music roots with pop sensibilities. The duo, Laurel Wright and Wes Lunsford, are East Tennessee natives (Maryville). Laurel Wright was a semi-finalist on American Idol – seasons 13 and 14, and she made it into the top 48 on season 15. At age 10, Laurel was inspired to pick up her first guitar, and with mom’s help, she wrote her first song. At age 16, Laurel was the youngest winner of the Texaco Country Showdown, one of the BEST high stakes competition in all of country music. That year, about 50,000 people nationwide entered the competition. The top five performed their original music on the Ryman Auditorium Stage. LeAnn Rimes hosted the event … and Laurel won the grand prize of $100,000. Lauren turned 19 and moved to Nashville, working as a restaurant hostess while pursuing her goal of a full-time music career. In less than a year, she met Wes, and together accomplished just that. Laurel has also been a semi-finalist on American Idol Season 13 and 14 and finished in the Top 48 in Season 15. Wes Lunsford earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Tennessee with a concentration in Studio Music and Jazz. During, and after college, freelanced for various bands around the Eastern United States. Wes had the opportunity to play music in China for 6 months, 7 days a week, with some of his closest friends. Oddly enough, while in China, Wes started listening to (and loving) country music. He was offered another contract to stay in China, but declined because he wanted to come back to the States and play country music. After returning to the states, a friend called Wes to fill in last minute on guitar with Laurel for a gig … and The Young Fables was born. ABOUT TAJ DAVIS— Saxophonist, arranger, and composer, Taj Davis has made a name for himself on regional and national music scene. A is native of Long Island, New York, but makes his home in Atlanta. Taj received his Bachelors of Science in Music Education from Oakwood University, and continued to pursue his music education at Florida State University, graduating summer 2012 with a Masters in Music Performance concentrating in Jazz Studies. Taj performs regularly with the Perfect 10 Band, one of the country’s premier corporate event party bands.
