TAMPA, FL — After a successful inaugural event in January 2020, The Reception is back for its second year Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Armature Works. The Reception is not your typical wedding expo. Developed and curated by the Armature Works events department, a team that coordinates more than 600 successful events per year, vendors will bring their vision to life with live demonstrations giving attendees a real-life glimpse into what their big day could be like. Attendees will experience two staged wedding ceremonies and attend a "reception" with live music, light bites and desserts in the Gathering and Armature Works' adjacent prefunction event spaces at the Armature Works, 1910 N. Ola Ave., Tampa. Some of the best local wedding- and reception-related vendors in the Tampa Bay area will be onsite showcasing everything that goes into weddings including photographers, florists, DJs, live musicians, cake artists, stationery and gift providers, preferred caterers, party and furniture rentals and more. Tickets for The Reception are $20 and include entry plus one guest, a complimentary glass of champagne, as well as keepsake tote bags. Purchasers may add additional guests at checkout for $5 a person. Tickets do not include service fees. Modifications have been implemented this year to adhere to coronavirus protocols. The limited-capacity event has been split into two time frames to allow for social distancing. Additionally, The Reception will extend its blueprint into the adjacent, outdoor courtyard to allow attendees more open-air space.
