Deputies Investigate Fatal Shooting In Apartment Parking Lot

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting Sunday night in Tampa. Shortly after 10 p.m., deputies responded to reports of shots fired at the Raintree Oaks Apartments at 5605 Gibson Avenue off 56th Street south of Temple Terrace. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered there had been a shooting in the parking lot of the apartment complex but no shooting victim was found. Later, a man was dropped off at the hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He later died from his injuries. "Through investigative means, deputies have determined the two incidents are related," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Deputies continue their investigation, interviewing witnesses and poring through evidence from the scene. We believe this is an isolated incident."
