Description

We want to encourage immigrants in our community to learn more about how they can access the opportunities they have and realize the resources that are available for them. Our focus topics include, government service programs, labor rights, the immigration process and healthcare. Meeting Topics: Government Service Programs and Labor Rights: What social service programs are available for immigrants? How do people qualify/what are the eligibilities for these programs? What labor rights are there for employees, regardless of citizenship status? How can individuals advocate for their rights when it comes to working? Healthcare: What are some health insurance programs that don’t require citizenship status? What are some health insurance programs that cater to immigrant families and their needs? Join Baldwin High School Youth Change Leadership Collaborative students and guest speakers educate and answer questions about these topics! Sessions will be held in different languages including English, Spanish, and Hatian Creole.
