Description

Slow down! Stop! Go! Do you know what the lights at a traffic signal mean? When was the traffic signal invented, and when did we get one in Culpeper? This month, we'll look at the invention of African-American inventor Garrett Morgan with a game of "Red Light, Green Light." “Hands on History” is the museum’s interactive series of children’s programming that brings fun facts, objects, and activities out of the past to your family today! The series, targeted at ages 2-5, will be held monthly. Each month will feature a different craft inspired by local history. Past programs have included flying kites, drawing maps, and making your own dinosaur tracks! There is no admission fee for this program. Admission to these programs is FREE thanks to funding from the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative through a Power of Change grant. This program is for Children ages 2-5. Parents/ guardians should accompany their children. THIS EVENT IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO TWELVE CHILDREN. Participants may be photographed for use in museum promotional and marketing material.
