Course Description This course has been designed to focus on the emergency care of athletes. We’ll be discussing current evaluation and management trends in athletic emergencies. Presentations and discussions will offer the participants the opportunity to interact with faculty and learn the most current solutions to these challenging problems. Course Objectives Identify and treat heat illnesses in athletes.Discuss management and recovery trends related to sports related concussion.Discuss management of the diabetic athlete.Describe management of sudden cardiac arrest in athletes.Discuss treatment of on field orthopedic related injuries.Describe equipment management for athletes with suspected spinal cord injury. Target Audience This activity is intended for healthcare professionals engaged in the emergency care of athletes.
