Description

In collaboration with the Oklahoma Native American Youth Language Fair, the Sam Noble Museum is hosting an intertribal hymn singing from 7-9pm. Come enjoy the beautiful acoustics of the Great Hall and enjoy some home-cooked food. The event is free and open to the public; if you are part of or bringing a group we request that you either register or write the organizers ([email protected]) to let us know how many people are expected to attend. Local Native church groups, families, and individuals are all welcome. The evening will open with some hymns sung by the organizers, followed by several hymns sung by the Native language classes at OU. Then the floor will be open to anyone who wants to sing or start a hymn; everyone then joins in. This is a collaborative, supportive space, and we welcome hymns in any and all Native languages. The event will be audio recorded.
