Free Market Institute Speaker Series — Better Money: Gold, Fiat, or Bitcoin Featuring Lawrence H. White — February 16Throughout most of history, the two real standards of money have been gold and fiat (government issued) money. The relatively recent creation of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has made it possible for people to have an additional standard of cash. Is one type of money better than the others?
Based on his forthcoming book Better Money: Gold, Fiat, or Bitcoin (March 2023), Prof. Lawrence H. White will present a public lecture to discuss the stability of purchasing power and the costliness of supply for gold, fiat, and cryptocurrencies.
The lecture will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 5:30 – 6:30 PM, in the Math-Computer Science Building – Room 100 (2200 Dena Drive, San Angelo, TX 76904) at Angelo State University.
This event is free and open to the Angelo State University community and the general public. (ASU students attending for extra credit are encouraged to pre-register and arrive early for check-in.)
