WALKOUTSynopsisAfter the 2019 mass shooting at an El Paso store killed 23 people, Walmart employees confronted their superiors with the hopes of creating change inside the world’s largest company. Instead, their activism led to more gun reform than the country had seen in generations. WATCH TRAILER HERE Director BioRob Smat is a 27-year-old hybrid of the motion picture industry. After directing his first feature at 22, which was licensed to Netflix, and received positive reviews from Variety et al., Rob began production on a slate of projects, in addition to keynoting an American Heart Association convention in early 2020, due to the awareness that his film, THE LAST WHISTLE, brought to the condition of sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes. In addition to this documentary, he has authored three books during the pandemic, one of which is in peer review for publishing by Georgetown University Press. Smat, a Lone Star Film Festival alum, will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.
