(no refunds after this date) Members: $23/Guests: $24 (includes tax and gratuity) (EventBrite fee additional) March 14, 2023 - 11:30am Social Time, 12:00pm Lunch & Program - Cash Wine and Soda Bar Program: The Chicken and the Egg by Doris Montag Doris Montag is a museum curator without a museum. She creates exhibits that are shown all over Iowa. She finds her inspiration in the stories told by every day objects. Her talk will be teaching many little-known facts from the farm flock to early commercial egg productions to changes in the egg nutritional status. The collection has artifacts of the flock lifestyle: incubator, feeders, mailing cartons ,chicken catchers, egg flats and separators and many early egg cartons. Doris grew up with chickens so there will be a few stories told. If you remember Doris from before, you will learn something new and this will be really fun. Menu: Flaky butter Croissant Club stuffed with ham, turkey, cheeses, and topped with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Served with a pasta salad. Coffee, iced tea and water. Dessert bites. Vegetarian Menu: Grilled Portabella Wellington (Grilled portabella mushroom stuffed with roasted garlic and sun dried tomatoes encased in flaky puff pastry.) Finished with an Asiago cheese sauce and served with seasonal vegetables and red potatoes. Coffee, iced tea and water. Dessert bites. Gluten Free or No Salt meal available with advanced request.
