Purpose. To provide policies and procedures to assist players with the implementation of the 3on3 Basketball Tournament. General. 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament: A. All games will be Played at the John D Fuller Recreation Center, registration will start 1 August 2022, Deadline for registration will be Friday, 19 August at 5 pm. B. Tournament play is on Saturday, 27 August. Teams are required to submit a team roster to Clabon R Lowe check-in through registration from 8:30am-9:30am on August 27 in the lobby of the John D Fuller Recreation Center. Rosters must include full name. To be included on the initial schedule of games, rosters must be submitted before the first game of the tournament. C. At the start of tournament registration in the morning there will be a devotional service. The devotional will be immediately after all players have registered accordingly. Pastor Stackhouse will bless the tournament by giving a word and then opening the doors of the church. It reinforces the importance that Jesus and saving souls is the centerpiece of the tournament. The basketball game(s) are merely an outreach tool to the community. Player eligibility. Must be registered to participate. Must pay the registration entry prior before registration has ended the morning of August 27. A team will be allowed 4 total members. Once a player starts with a team, he/she must remain with that team during the tournament. Players cannot switch teams before or during tournament play. D. Rules. 1. Home team will shoot for ball at the start of each game 2. Each game will be to 21 points or 10 minutes long. The team must win by only one point. (The Championship Game will be 15 minutes) 3. Teams score by either regular two-point baskets, or by three-point shots taken from outside the three-point circle. 4. After a basket has been scored or a foul called, a player must put the ball in play from a line past the three-point line above the foul key. 5. All held balls will be put into play behind the three-point line with possession given alternately to each team. 6. On defensive rebounds or steals, players must return the ball by dribble or pass across the three-point line before a basket may be attempted. Once across the line, they do not have to pass the ball before shooting.
