"Between You and me," There are often a lot of words that need saying after that comma. This album is a collection of songs written over the past 3 years and I'm grateful for you wanting to come out and experience them live and celebrate this major milestone in my musical journey. For the past 15 years I've dreamt of and strived after writing songs, performing them, and hopefully making a difference in the people who share their ears with me. This is a major milestone in that journey: my first record. This album centers around the idea of an honest, intimate, even confessional conversation; something where you drop your defenses and finally open up about what you're really thinking, what you're really feeling, and what you really need to say. Each of these songs is either an honest confession to you as my listener, my wife, or God Himself in a prayer. Since playing my first show in Kalamazoo back in January, 2020, my friends and supporters have continued to dig in with my music and I'm so glad that we get to spend time together again around this exciting achievement. Opening up the night will be Daisybox, the artist moniker of local singer-songwriter Taylor Hottenstein. From pop hooks to suspended chords and deep back stories, you won't want to miss Daisybox breaking in the night. This concert is organized and supported by Sounds of the Zoo, a local promotions and arts curation organization here in Kalamazoo. Beginning with their festival focused on showcasing local artists, Sounds of the Zoo has now begun to put on regular local events proving that it will soon become a staple in Kalamazoo's music scene. Things are shaking up in the independent music scene and here in Michigan, Sounds of the Zoo is on the cutting edge of that wave bringing community and artists together for the shared enjoyment of one of the best memory and community makers: live music. Hosting this event is none other than The Clover Room here in Kalamazoo. While being brand new to the scene, The Clover Room is quickly becoming a coveted room here in town for its intimate setting and top notch talent. Come and enjoy the lounge style seating and intimate feel of this wonderful listening room. This event is gearing up to be a true Kalamazoo community event with ties throughout the city.
