Description
In the name of "love", Christians are increasingly embracing things that don't square up with the God of love. Views on sexuality, gender identity, ethnicity, hierarchy, and justice are being shaped more by the world than the Word. Yet God's voice on these topics is clear and good. This conference is designed to equip each believer to be Biblically faithful and truly loving in your church, workplace, classroom, neighborhood, and family This event is scheduled for two days (April 21, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM - April 22, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM) however, it is one single event. Attendants need only to register for one day to attend both. We apologize for any confusion. SESSION 1 - Mike Hanafee Stench or Aroma: Which Does God Call Us to Be? Infatuation with cultural acceptance has caused many Christians to compromise God's word with deadly results. If we are obsessed with smelling good to everyone we will salvifically smell good to no one. On the other hand, if we are willing to risk stinking to some, we will be the sweet aroma of the gospel to those that are hungering for Him. SESSION 2 - Lucas Backman "They went out from us, but they were not of us." Deconstructing Progressive Christianity This session will explore what is Progressive Christianity, how its theologically structured, and how it's hermeneutic has crept into mainstream Christianity. Progressive Christianity uses a hermeneutic that is intended to suit the culture we live in instead of a hermeneutic that brings into focus the person and work of Christ. SESSION 3 - Mike Moses Pronouns, Puberty Blockers, and the Gospel: A Biblical Response to Transgenderism This talk will evaluate transgender ideology, then compare it to a Biblical view of gender, which is better grounded in reality and leads to a better hope. SESSION 4 - Samuel Sey Antiracism, Equity, and Abortion One of the biggest indictments against proponents of antiracism, racial equity, or social justice within the Church today is that it hasn't produced a greater passion against the biggest form of injustice in our lifetime: abortion. In fact, through antiracism and racial equity, many people within the Church have become apathetic or supportive of abortion. In my talk, I'll explain why antiracism cannot coexist with anti-abortion advocacy. SESSION 5 - Justin Smith CRT: A Biblical Response This session will provide an understanding of CRT’s teachings and explain how CRT is incompatible with Biblical doctrines. SESSION 6 - Brian Evans Social justice versus Biblical Justice This message seeks to clearly distinguish the Biblical view of justice from the deceptive, counterfeit teaching of the Social justice movement. This message also seeks to alert the church to the serious threat which Social justice teaching presents to Biblical Christianity.
