Electric Car Help Needed!

Hello everyone. I am a young disabled man in need of some electric car help. Due to the rising prices of gas, I bought a small 2017 Smart Fortwo Electric Drive. It did well for me for some time, then I let my mother borrow it for a couple of days and it now refuses to charge. The dashboard lights up and everything and it recognizes it's plugged in, but it refuses to actually accept any charge. I cannot afford major repairs, nor to simply replace it without selling it. I appreciate any help I can get! I have been smart enough with the money I can make to be able to pay for someone's time and travel if need be! Thank you!
