Hello All!
I am a Research Assistant at St. John's University. The lab I am working in is currently recruiting children between 5 and 10 years of age for a study examining music processing in the developing brain. The study is open to those who speak: only English, only English and Spanish, or only English and Mandarin.
The study's procedure is noninvasive (using an EEG) and only takes 2-3 hours. The study will be conducted on the St. John's University campus. Families will be compensated $50 for their participation. If the family needs to split the study into two different sessions, they will be compensated $30 for the first trip and $30 for the second trip. Your child will also receive a free intelligence, hearing, and language test.
If you are interested or know anyone who may be interested, please do not hesitate to reach out. I can provide more detailed information, as well as a consent form that you can review before you come in. I will also be happy to answer any questions. This research is approved and funded by the US Department of Health.
