Catholic Central High School Bus Driver Job Title: School Bus Driver Location: Catholic Central High School – 27225 Wixom Road, Novi, Michigan 48374 Website: www.catholiccentral.net/more/careers Reports to: Director of Facilities and Transportation Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Pay: Competitive Schedule: During School/After School/Extracurricular Events - Days/Evenings/Weekends as needed Position Summary Drive school bus to transport students and staff to athletic and school events. Responsibilities • Transport students and staff in a safe and timely manner to events. • Fuel bus as required. Sweep floors and clean windows. • Report any accidents, mechanical bus malfunctions or needed repairs to the Director of Facilities and Transportation or his designee. • Support and enforce all school policies and rules, safety regulations and guidelines. • Attend to emergencies when necessary. • Attend safety meetings and other related meetings. • Take classes as required in, First Aid, CPR and other classes relating to your job. • Perform related duties as assigned. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms about the head and reach forward. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Qualifications • Must have a cell phone for communication. • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). • Must have CDL B license with air brake experience and Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. • Must have a current State of Michigan Bus Driver Card and DOT medical card. • Completed a Michigan school bus driver continuing education class preferred. • Must be willing to work days/nights/weekends as needed. Flexible hours and available for emergency call-in. • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug testing. • Exhibits ability to work independently. • Proven time management skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines. Being punctual. • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. • Strong communications skills (written and verbal); able to communicate information clearly and in a timely fashion.
