Eyes have long been a metaphor for our walk with God, and when our eyes are directed looking upwards, we are in faith, hope, and worship. In the garden of Eden and the eating of the fruit, Adam and Eve looked away from God and at themselves, seeing their condition, which created in them separation, shame, and fear. The phrase “Look Up” in Greek is anablepo – meaning to look heavenward, recover sight, and receive sight.
The battle of where our eyes are fixed in 2023 is intense. The imagery and reporting in media and experiences being had by people are causing them to look away from God and at their circumstances and weaknesses. Habakkuk 2:1 states this “I will stand on my guard post. And station myself on the rampart: And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am reproved.” Looking up, seeing to hear, and running with the vision are prophetic mandates for the body of Christ in this hour. Looking up and pulling heaven into the earth is paramount. Join us as we press into intimacy with the Holy One and sharpen our discernment for this new year!
