Content is appropriate for new and experienced birth workers. Taught by Amy Kochersberger, DC, CACCP. Participants will learn/discuss: - In-depth anatomy and physiology of the levels of the pelvis to gain a greater understanding of how movement affects and creates space within the pelvis. - Pelvis shape and classification systems, introductory discussion of systemic racism's role in the US maternal health crisis. Newer research on pelvic variation, and why this matters. - How positioning and movement of the pregnant person can create expansion and introduce movement at different levels of the pelvis, to allow space for baby to rotate and descend. Modifying positions and movements based on birth setting and/or labor augmentation including epidural use. Participants will leave with information and tools they can use with clients/patients right away! Approved for 2.5 contact hours through the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA).
