WHEATON, MD — Montgomery Parks is updating its master plan for Wheaton Regional Park and is asking the public to weigh in online. The department is hosting two live virtual community meetings, one in English and one in Spanish, for residents to offer ideas for park improvements and to learn more about the plan. Webinar ID: 9652 4223 380# The 536-acre park was established in the 1960s and is in need of updates to address its aging infrastructure, according to county officials. "The park's current master plan was created in 1987. An updated master plan will ensure that the park's future renovations and growth align with the values and interests of the adjacent communities and the rest of Montgomery County," officials said in a statement. "Parks staff will discuss the details of the park, what aspects are under review for future updates or changes, and how the public can share their comments, ideas, and suggestions, through an online survey and an interactive map." Wheaton Regional Park is the largest park in lower Montgomery County and features a variety of facilities and recreational opportunities, including: Brookside Gardens and Brookside Nature CenterWheaton Ice Rink, Wheaton Sports Pavilion, F.
