Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) gives you the tools you need to start the conversation and provide initial support to someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. YMHFA teaches adults how to recognize unique signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges in youth ages 12-18. It also teaches how to interact with youth in crisis and how to connect them to appropriate help.
This is an all-day class presented in person from 8am until approximately 5 pm with a lunch break that is typically an hour. You may choose to leave for this break, or you can bring a lunch.
You will need to create a profile and complete a couple of brief surveys before the day of class. You will be emailed instructions on how to complete these steps about 2 weeks before the class date.
