Join Sam Houston High School (SHHS) as its hosts its annual Black History Program on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The program will build on last year's theme, “Good Trouble,” which honored former United States Representative, American politician and Civil Rights activist John Lewis.
NBC’s Laura Harris will be the keynote speaker at this year's event. There will also be a special video message from Congressman Marc Veasey. In addition to the guest speaker, there will be performances by the SHHS choir, SHHS community jazz band and the poetry group Young People of Color.
Every year, the Sam Houston Black History Month committee awards two graduating seniors with scholarships to attend college. To contribute to the scholarship fund, you can donate here.
