Hobson City: From Peril to Promise , Alabama's 1st Black Municipality is about the only municipality governed entirely by African Americans in Alabama. The content of the film covers the origins of Hobson City(1899), Calhoun Co. Training School, and preserving the history of Hobson City, Alabama. Hiztorical Vision Productions (HVP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Alabama. HVP partners with local communities throughout Alabama to produce short-film documentaries that help protect and preserve the often-untold African American narratives found in the area.
