HomeAhead is a furniture bank that collects donated furniture and household items and makes these items available to people exiting homelessness. By equipping homes with basic furnishings, we make it easier for newly housed individuals and families to focus on building new lives. Our small-but-mighty team furnished 271 homes in 2022. We are looking for a 10-hour per week person to serve as Operations Coordinator. This person coordinates with the Executive Director and volunteer team to help support daily operations for the organization. Some remote (e.g. work from home) possible. Responsibilities: Organize and schedule furniture pick ups and deliveries Recruit, communicate with, and schedule volunteers Maintain clear records of deliveries and pickups Basic computer skills for emailing, recordkeeping, spreadsheets, etc. Identify and implement easy-to-use scheduling tool for volunteer organization Communicate in a clear and timely manner with donors and clients regarding furniture pickups and deliveries Nice to have skills/experience: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on occasion to help move/organize furniture Bilingual (Spanish/English) Flexible schedule including ability to work occasional weekends Licensed driver - willingness to drive small box truck to fill-in when needed Interest in or previous experience with housing justice To Apply: qualified candidates should email cover letter and resume or letter of interest to [email protected] Materials will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
