PROJECT FOOD is seeking volunteers in Washington, DC and Northern VA. We serve the homeless, seniors/homebound and working poor. We have a number of volunteer opportunities: Our Food & Clothing Drive can be done on weekdays and/or weekends. Items include canned/boxed goods, clothing (new & gently used), hygiene items, housewares and bags (paper, plastic and recycle). Volunteers will help spread the word and arrange pickup and delivery of items. Our Assembly/Packing Days are held every other month. Food Pickup & Delivery is on Monday and Thursday afternoons. You will need a car and be willing to lift items up to 25 lbs. All opportunities are available for volunteers age 16+. Those under 16 can help with their parent’s supervision.
