Description

I'd love to find some folks who want to do stuff that's outside of the usual hits, maybe even straying into original material at some point in the future. I don't want to be constrained by popularity of a song, era of a song, or the idea that audiences only want to hear the same tracks that are still being flogged on the radio after 10/20/30 years. Are those songs fun to play? Yeah! Am I opposed to playing some radio singles? No! I play those songs too. I just don't want to be bound by them. I'm thinking rock/alt/whatever here, I'm a fan of stuff like Radiohead, St. Vincent, NIN, QOTSA, Deftones, Bjork, Snarky Puppy, and much much more; generally music that is dynamic, compelling, exciting, complex, weird. Complex rhythms in odd meters? Great, lets take on the challenge. So many artists with so many great songs, why keep playing the same ones? I can sing, play guitar, often both at the same time. Have a place to make noise. Have drums; unfortunately lacking in synths. I'm 34, looking to play with people of reasonably similar age; I care more about getting along, having fun, getting excited about what were doing than I do about mastery of instrument. That said, I'm reasonably competent, and would expect others to be as well.
