SCOPE OF VOLUNTEER DUTIES
Camp Casco is seeking an individual interested in helping plan, organize, and execute our fourth annual week-long day camp for childhood cancer patients, survivors, and siblings ages 6-12. This camp will take place in Wellesley, MA, July 2-7, 2023. Our camps are offered free-of-cost to our families to help combat the long-term challenges of childhood cancer.
You will plan and organize our camp "Med Shed", ensuring every child receives medications and any necessary medical care throughout the week of camp, and overseeing fellow medical volunteers during the week of day camp. You’ll play an essential role in creating the safe and supportive atmosphere we strive for at every camp session. Most importantly, you will get the unique opportunity to help create and lead an incredible day camp for kids affected by cancer who can benefit immensely from this amazing week of fun.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
Medical professional with a license to practice in the state of Massachusetts (RN, PA, MD, DO, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized
Effective and supportive management style
Creativity and resourcefulness
Problem-solving skills
Experience in pediatrics or pediatric oncology appreciated, but not required
EXPECTATIONS & COMMITMENT
Applicants should be at least 21 years of age, be able pass a background check, be fully immunized (including COVID-19) and be a licensed medical professional. Applicants should be able to commit to help with this role through the execution of the camp week in July 2023. Most volunteer work can be done remotely throughout the year, but applicants must be able to commit to attending every day of the week-long day camp in Wellesley, MA (July 2-7, 2023).
