Im watching the souls of Pittsburgh musicians collapse around me. All I hear is people saying they just want to jam in their basements and that gigging is pointless. Well how about everybody starts making it not pointless and join together to get people excited about the energy live music brings. Get the hell off of your stupid phones and youtube. Go out and re inspire these club owners to realize that live entertainment can be rewarding again. Also, charging $12 covers at a dive bar for unknown bands is a big part of the issue. These bar owners would make more money on drink sales if they would stop charging such ridiculous fees at the door. All this does is leave bands on stage playing shows for each other. The "scene" that used to exist here was destroyed when clubs made gigging near impossible then blamed the bands for not filling their venues. Or just jam in your basement prisons if thats your thing.
