Two Hour Commutes for Rehearsals

It seems as though things have changed in the last year or so in what we refer to as Houston. I've seen some ads that say that rehearsal is in Magnolia, Porter, Splendora, Conroe, Surfside, etc. WTF?? A looooong way from Houston. There is even an ad currently that basically says that if you are not willing to rehearse in Magnolia, "don't waste our time". LOL Seriously Here's an idea: If you want to find good musicians IN Houston and not have to keep RE-POSTING YOUR AD, how about you drive down from whatever crappy little community you live in to rehearse? Out of town gigs are understandable, but rehearsals in your house so you can drink and not have to drive are not attractive. Just because you have a free practice space in Podunkville doesn't mean great musicians will come running. Come rehearse inside Beltway 8 where the HOUSTON musicians are... We will gladly gig in your little home town so you can show off to your family while we get paid the gas money needed to drive back to Houston...
